Asphalt Distributor Truck Driver (CDL A w/Tankers REQUIRED)

2401 S. Broadway Ave. Moore, OK 73160, USA. Full-Time.

Silver Star Construction, a local road construction company - is seeking an Asphalt Distrubutor Truck Driver to drive / operate and apply tack coat to roadways ahead of the paving crew.

General Description:

• Able to operate company vehicles in a responsible manner.
• Drives and operates an asphalt distributor by applying specialize emulsions to roadways, which are then covered by a chip spreader.
• Perform pre / post shift safety inspections.
• Knowledge of the machine settings to perform daily safety checks of fluid levels on oil, water, fuel, and inspections for leaks and damage to machine before operation.
• Responsible for daily and preventative maintenance such as: greasing and cleaning excess asphalt out of tanks and spray bars, etc.
• Typically performs a wide variety of tasks, transferring from one task to another as the work flow dictates.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• REQUIRED: Commercial Driver License (CDL) - A or B with N-tanker endorsement and acceptable driving record. If has X - Hazmat a plus!
• Must pass the background check and DOT drug screen / DOT physical.
• Must be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
• Must adhere to safety requirements and procedures.
• Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on road construction sites such as oil, grease, gasoline, diesel fuel and asphalt concentrate at hot temperatures.
• Shifts may vary according to project demands, so must be able to work nights and weekends when necessary and overtime when required.
• Ability to work independently and effectively with others.
• Understand and execute paving procedures while following instructions to meet the standards of the project.
• Able to snap or screw on spray bars to attain required width of spay. Turn on valve to regulate flow of material at specified rate and adjust levers to adjust height of spray bar from road surface.

Physical Requirements in order to perform the essential functions of the job:

• Constant physical effort, including standing and siting is required during a regular work shift.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, and crouch as required. Frequently walk on uneven surfaces and climb in / out of truck or on / off equipment.
• Ability to lift / carry on a frequent basis, 10 to 50 pounds personally.
• Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, controls, and levers.
• Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the road construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
• Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise and dust that is typically associated with road construction.
