Litigation Associate Attorney (2-7 Years Experience)

Venice Beach, California

Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join a growing and well-regarded litigation firm in Venice, California. This is an excellent opportunity for driven attorneys looking to take on meaningful responsibility and grow with a dynamic, expanding practice. Multiple associate positions are available.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day litigation matters and supervise junior staff as appropriate
• Develop and execute discovery strategies, including propounding and responding to discovery, drafting meet-and-confer correspondence, and preparing motions to compel
• Draft pleadings, briefs, and motions, including oppositions to summary judgment
• Take and defend party, witness, and expert depositions
• Conduct legal research and factual investigations
• Appear in court, argue motions, and attend hearings
• Meet directly with clients and prepare them for depositions and trial
• First- or second-chair trial experience and insurance defense experience are a plus

Qualifications:

• Active admission to the California State Bar
• 2-7+ years of substantive litigation experience
• Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to manage cases independently while collaborating with a team

Compensation:

• Competitive base salary ranging from $160,000-$220,000 , commensurate with experience
