A well-established, employee-owned general contractor is seeking an experienced Dirt Foreman to join their growing field operations team in St. Henry, Ohio .
This is a hands-on leadership role for a foreman who enjoys being in the dirt, running equipment, and leading crews on complex sitework and earthwork scopes. The company has been operating for 70+ years , self-performs the majority of its work, and offers long-term career growth through an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) .
The Role
As Dirt Foreman, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day dirt operations on active jobsites, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage daily dirt work operations on site
- Operate heavy equipment including bulldozers, excavators, skid steers , and related machinery
- Supervise equipment operators and field crews
- Coordinate closely with the Project Manager and subcontractors
- Maintain production schedules and jobsite quality control
- Assist with training, mentoring, and development of crew members
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and company procedures
- Support industrial, commercial, and institutional projects
What They’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Dirt Foreman / Earthwork Foreman
- Hands-on leadership style with strong field presence
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and site plans
- Competence with hand tools and construction equipment
- Physically capable of lifting up to 100 lbs
- Strong communication and team coordination skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Flexibility to assist across multiple scopes as needed
