Job Description
We are seeking a Health, Safety, and Environmental (EHS) Professional to support daily safety initiatives at a manufacturing facility in Newburyport, MA . This role focuses on promoting safe work practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations
- Lead and support incident investigations using root cause analysis; track and report safety data
- Maintain safety records and oversee corrective actions
- Conduct safety inspections, hazard analyses, and risk assessments
- Monitor adherence to safety programs by employees, contractors, and visitors
- Partner with Human Resources on workers’ compensation management
- Maintain required OSHA and regulatory reporting (e.g., 300/300A logs)
- Coordinate site safety committee activities and support safety culture initiatives
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and standards
- Technical safety training and/or related education required
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Safety certification (e.g., CSP, CRSP) a plus
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and detail-oriented
Work Environment
- Manufacturing/production environment with physical activity
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (with assistance as needed)
- Exposure to food allergens and varying environmental conditions
