Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems, with experience in diagnosing and repairing a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles. This role requires a hands-on approach to maintenance and repair, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, and farm machinery.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on vehicles and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems effectively.
  • Operate various tools and machinery, including power tools, hand tools, and forklifts.
  • Execute repairs on transmissions, air brakes, suspension systems, HVAC units, and diesel engines.
  • Assemble and repair components as needed, including shocks & struts and brake systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of service performed on equipment.
  • Adhere to safety protocols while performing heavy lifting and working with potentially hazardous materials.

Skills

  • Dealership experience is preferred for understanding the nuances of automotive diagnostics.
  • Proficiency in fabrication techniques for custom repairs or modifications.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including tractors-trailers and various industrial machinery.
  • Experience with welding, soldering, and assembly processes is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues accurately.
