Linux System Engineer

Our client is a small to mid-size Linux shop both on the server side and the trader desktops.

Fluency in Linux administration is a must.

Experience in Debian or Ubuntu is a plus.

Some Windows administration skills are a plus but not strictly necessary.

Face our users directly and interact with them frequently.

Good communication skills are important.

Responsibilities include:

# Installations of workstations on trading floors and in offices.

# Installations of servers and networking appliances in data centers sometimes requiring travel.

# Technologies of particular interest are:

-- bind,

-- Ansible,

-- Linux KVM,

# Scripting skills are primarily in bash and Python and occasionally SQL and Perl.

# Cybersecurity tooling includes 2FA, iptable rulesets, Malwarebytes, fail2ban, etc.

Occasional tasks include:

# Hardware maintenance.

# Large-scale buildouts sometimes requiring travel, both domestic and international.

# Installations of appliances such as printers, phones, televisions etc.
