Job Description

Primary Job Duties:

  • Evaluates facilities and related systems/processes to determine maintenance or repairs needed.
  • Collaborates with team members and managers to plan and coordinate upcoming work assignments.
  • Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on facilities.
  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completely safely, effectively, and in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate and repair building systems quickly and efficiently.
  • Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments.
  • Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Identifies the causes of unexpected repair needs and establishes procedures to prevent future occurrences.
  • Documentation of performed work as required.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed.
  • Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with contractors regarding building and facility related service and repairs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports, logs, and inventory.
  • General knowledge and skills related to basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.

· Ability to follow proper safety protocols.

Education and Experience:

  • Previous hands-on experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and related troubleshooting and repairs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines, buildings infrastructure and property.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with plant operations as well as other as other indoor and outdoor areas related to plant and property.
