The Pharmacy Technician assists with the fulfillment of patient orders to ensure patients receive their medications on time. Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, Central Fill, and the Team Lead, the Pharmacy Technician supports medication dispensing, inventory management, patient safety, and facilitates patient medication orders to ensure compliance with treatment plans.
Roles and responsibilities:
Maintain patient/client confidentiality in accordance with federal and state laws, HIPAA guidelines, and PHI/EPHI regulations.
Coordinate the delivery of medications to patients.
Manage patient orders up to the point of pharmacist verification to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Access, input, and retrieve information through the pharmacy’s computer systems to maintain accurate records.
Utilize pharmacy technology and automation to optimize workflow and streamline the dispensing process.
Maintain inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure availability of essential medications.
Collaborate with pharmacists to support timely preparation and distribution of medications for inpatient and outpatient needs.
Adhere to established procedures, policies, and regulations.
Promote teamwork, professional communication, and a collaborative work environment.
Recognize and operate within the scope and limitations of the role.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
