Full-time Wine Guide at Embarc Wines

Welcome to Embarc Wines, a new kind of wine bar experience in the heart of San Francisco. Our mission is to create a relaxed, welcoming space where guests can explore over 80 wines from around the world—all at their own pace.

Using our innovative  embarc card , guests can sample wines by the ounce or enjoy full glasses, learning as much—or as little—as they’d like along the way. It’s a self-guided tasting adventure, but our team is always nearby to answer questions, offer recommendations, and make the experience unforgettable.

About the Role

We’re looking for passionate, curious, and guest-focused individuals to join our team as Wine Guides. You’ll play a key role in delivering an elevated yet approachable wine experience while stepping into a leadership position when needed.

What You’ll Do

• Welcome and guide guests through their wine-tasting experience
• Provide thoughtful, personalized wine recommendations
• Lead the floor and act as manager on duty during your shift
• Support opening/closing duties, restocking, and daily operations
• Ensure a clean, safe, and inviting atmosphere
• Continuously learn about wine, regions, and producers—we’ll support your curiosity!

What We’re Looking For

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• A genuine interest in wine and hospitality
• Strong interpersonal skills—you love engaging with guests
• A proactive mindset and confidence working independently
• Willingness to learn and take initiative
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Reliable transportation and availability evenings/weekends
• California Food Handler & RBS certifications (or willingness to obtain—we’ll help guide you!)

Bonus points for:

• Wine knowledge, whether gained through professional experience or personal initiative
• Serving or sales background, especially in hospitality, wine, or food & beverage
• Interest in wine education or pursuing wine certifications (WSET, CMS, etc.)
• Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, wine bars, or tasting rooms

• Starting at $21/hour , depending on experience
