HDR is currently seeking a Structures CAD Designer to join our team in South Florida.
Primary Responsibilities - Prepare detailed drawings, layouts and sketches for conventional concrete and steel bridges, retaining walls and miscellaneous structures using computer-aided design software.
- Develop details for complex concrete and steel bridges which may include: prestressed concrete, post tensioned concrete, steel plate girder, truss systems, segmental and cable-stayed.
- Typical projects will be for highway, transit, and railway projects.
- Work independently with direction from supervisor and engineers
Preferred Qualifications - Associate's degree in Engineering Technology.
- Experience in structures drafting or related projects.
- Experience working with BIM and 3D CAD software platforms.
- Experience interpreting as-built plans for existing structures.
- Ability to use Excel to calculate quantities for cost estimating purposes.
- Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with project team members.
- Preference given to local candidates.
Required Qualifications - Technically qualified with 3D design software and document management infrastructure
- Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools
- Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits are essential
- Basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
