Overview

We are seeking a mechanically inclined, eager-to-learn Entry-Level Service Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a leading HVAC manufacturer’s representative. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and learning new technical skills. No prior HVAC service experience is required—full training will be provided.

You will assist in the installation, start-up, troubleshooting, and maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment used in schools, hospitals, office buildings, industrial facilities, and more. This position offers hands-on field experience, long-term growth potential, and the chance to build a career in a high-demand technical field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior technicians with equipment start-ups, commissioning, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks, inspections, and performance checks on commercial HVAC equipment, including air handling units, pumps, chillers, boilers, controls, etc.
  • Learn to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues under the guidance of experienced team members.
  • Follow manufacturer instructions, safety procedures, and jobsite protocols.
  • Document service activities and maintain accurate records of work performed.
  • Provide courteous and professional communication when interacting with contractors, engineers, and end users.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in proper working order.
  • Participate in ongoing training to learn HVAC fundamentals, equipment operations, and troubleshooting techniques.

Qualifications

  • No HVAC experience required. Mechanical aptitude is essential.
  • Hands-on experience in any mechanical, electrical, construction, automotive, maintenance, or related trade is a plus but not required.
  • Ability and willingness to learn technical concepts, read manuals, and follow step-by-step procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record .
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently once trained.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work on rooftops or in mechanical spaces.

As mentioned, this position begins on a contract basis with the intention to convert to full-time employment for someone who is reliable, eager to learn, and demonstrates strong performance during the initial period.
