Job Description

JCCA is seeking a passionate, energetic, and mission-driven Trainer/Recruiter to join our Home Finding Department . In this vital role, you will empower foster families and applicants through high-quality training, meaningful engagement, and strengths-based support. You will facilitate evidence-based, trauma-informed learning experiences that strengthen caregivers’ skills and ultimately improve outcomes for children in care.

As a Trainer/Recruiter, you will also help grow our network of foster parents—supporting recruitment efforts, participating in outreach events, and helping expedite the certification of foster homes. If you love connecting with people, presenting, and building strong communities for children, we want to meet you!

Key Responsibilities:

Training & Support

  • Facilitate National Training Development Curriculum (NTDC) pre-certification trainings, ongoing learning groups, and assessments for foster parents.
  • Deliver engaging, culturally responsive, trauma-informed sessions that build caregiver confidence and competency.
  • Document training recommendations based on family needs and maintain accurate, timely data within Binti and CONX.
  • Coordinate with Home Finding and Support teams to maximize foster parent participation and success.
  • Create and distribute monthly training calendars, reminders, invitations, and certificates.

Professional Collaboration

  • Attend “Train the Trainer” (TOT) programs through ACS, OCFS, and other partners.
  • Participate in ACS stakeholder meetings and OCFS training networks.
  • Prepare training data for ACS and OCFS annual reviews.

Recruitment & Certification

  • Support emergency kinship homes in completing full certification, including background checks, home study assessments, documentation, and more.
  • Assist with expediting select foster parent recertification applications as needed.

Represent the agency at city, state, and community events to generate enthusiasm around foster parenting.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred
  • Professional presence, strong communication skills, and comfort with public speaking
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel throughout Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Zoom
  • Experience with Connections and Binti highly preferred

Strong administrative skills and experience in social services or foster care required

If you are passionate about strengthening families, supporting caregivers, and helping children thrive, we’d love to hear from you!
